Gotham is returning to Fox on April 24th for what promises to be an amazing eight episodes. The show just released a season 3 promo and if you were waiting on the transformation of Bruce Wayne, that wait appears to be over. The promo is called “The Transformation Begins” and in it we see Bruce begin his training to become Gotham City’s protector. According to Geek Tyrant:
During the WonderCon 2017 panel this past weekend, we learned that Bruce Wayne will struggle with an identity crisis and according to actor David Mazouz and producer Danny Cannon Season 3 will lead to a climactic moment of a major decision that Bruce will have to make. Mazouz says:
“Bruce will go through a major transformation in these last eight episodes of the season, and it will result in him making a decision that he’s been searching for, for a very long time. It will be the most important decision of his life. He is going to live out the reason he was created, and it will have very bad consequences for Bruce–catastrophic consequences. I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s not going to be pretty.”
I’ve shared the first look below but I couldn’t be more excited at the darker take on this. The reality is that Bruce Wayne’s life is incredibly dark and amazingly sordid. To think that this would be portrayed in any other way than tragic would be an insult to the show and character. I’m just glad that Gotham is going in this direction. There’s always a price to pay when you have a responsibility as great as The Batman.
