Season 2 of Westworld is coming out on April 22. As a result, it is no exaggeration to say that its release is imminent, which in turn, means that the marketing for the upcoming season has started up as well. Naturally, a trailer has been released for Season 2 of Westworld, which will be called “The Door” in much the same way as how Season 1 of the same series was called “The Maze.”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the trailer for Season 2 of Westworld made it very clear that there will be fighting between hosts and humans, which is the logistical next step considering the events of the previous season. Signs range from a scene showing Bernard on the beach while bodies float in the water to Maeve telling Lee to take her to her daughter while bodies are strewn around them in an in-door setting. However, what is more interesting is the fact that there seem to be signs of internal conflict among the hosts, with the best example being the opening conversation between Dolores and someone who is either Arnold or Bernard. The conversation see the individual who is either Arnold or Bernard describing a dream in which he was in the ocean rather than on the shore with Dolores and nebulous others, which in turn, serves as metaphor for the idea that said character and Dolores have philosophical differences. Something that cannot help but shape how the events of Westworld will proceed from this point forward regardless of the exact identity of the man.

With that said, there were also some other scenes of interest shown throughout the trailer. For example, there was one of Maeve in Shogun World, which would be one of the other theme parks owned by the same company but based on a Japanese rather than a Wild West theme. This could mean that Maeve’s daughter is situated somewhere within Shogun World, but unfortunately, there isn’t enough information to know one way or the other at this point in time. Another example of an interesting scene seen in the trailer was that of the Man in Black commenting on how the stakes have become real because the hosts are free, though the whole thing is ambiguous about exactly what said character is feeling throughout. On top of this, there is a scene in which the Man in Black is holding a gun to his own head, so it will be interesting to see whether said character will be exiting the series this season or not.

Summed up, Season 2 of Westworld promises to be an exciting one, which is perhaps unsurprising considering what went down in the previous season. Those who are interested should continue paying close attention to the news because chances are good that more information will be coming out soon. After all, the release date of the first episode is coming closer and closer, meaning that HBO will only be continuing to ramp up its promotional efforts for the next while.
