The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tell us that Ridge really, really doesn’t want to lose to Bill. The man cheated on the woman he was days away from marrying with the woman his father just married a few months before, called off their wedding, and has been moving on with the stepmom until he realized that his arch nemesis was the one who got the girl who just left him. Ridge might not love Brooke very much as evidenced by his prior behavior and their very long history, but he hates Bill so much he’s willing to do things he might not otherwise do. He’s working so hard to get her back, he’s doing something no one ever saw coming. And the woman with whom he was cheating is helping him to make it happen.
While Brooke is engaged to Bill and planning a wedding to him, Ridge has set up an actual wedding. He is pulling out all the stops, and he tells Brooke that her only job is to show up for the wedding, marry him, and live happily ever after with him. Yeah, seems like that’s going to work really well. Who doesn’t think planning a wedding with a woman who is engaged to someone else is going to work like a charm? The problem is Ridge is so certain that Brooke will choose him he’s not even worried that she won’t. It hasn’t even crossed his mind she might not show up to marry him. He’s a confident man.
It turns out, Bill is going to win this one. Brooke is not there for her wedding to Ridge. She’s either there to marry Bill, or she’s going to tell Ridge she can’t marry him. Either way, Ridge is not getting married today or tomorrow — or anytime in the near future for that matter — no matter what he does to win Brooke over. She’s done with him, and thing are not going to go his way this time around. He’s losing to Bill, and it’s a moment he cannot stand to see happen in his own life.
