The Bold and the Beautiful is teaching us a very valuable lesson this week. What we are learning is that romance is not dead, but that being dishonest is a bad idea for anyone in a relationship. Right now, Quinn is on the edge of hear seat just waiting for Katie to drop the ball on her. Quinn knows Katie has feelings for her husband Eric, and that she’ll do anything to get him all to herself. She’s aware that Quinn engaged in an inappropriate affair with her husband’s own son, and it’s not a good situation. What we are learning here is that things aren’t always what they seem. While Katie is seeking a bit of torture on Eric’s wife, he’s not aware of what is going on.
Ridge is about to find out what is going on, and he’s going to make Katie’s life a miserable existence. If these people could just spend a few moments being honest with one another, they might find that life is a bit more enjoyable. They might find that they have a little bit more to offer one another than just a little bit of drama and a lot of insecurities. They have not been honest with one another, and right now it’s causing even bigger messes and more drama than they can imagine.
But what we are learning is that they are lying. When they lie to one another, little messes become bigger messes. They get bigger, bolder, and they become something that can’t be changed. This means many relationships are going to be ruined. They might have been damaged if everyone had been honest in the beginning, but now they are just going to end up completely ruined. What they should do is try being honest upfront rather than spending so much time being dishonest. It makes the situation worse, which makes us less excited about what might happen in the near future.
