Young and the Restless fans aren’t sure we had a long enough break. It was a long week last week. First, Mariah spent some serious time trying to decide if she should tell her mother that Nick slept with Phyllis a few weeks ago. It was, after all, their wedding day. She had to tell her, and she had to do it before she walked down the aisle. She didn’t show up for her own wedding until way late, but she did walk down the aisle, and then she made a huge announcement that will shake everyone to the core for weeks to come. She told everyone at the wedding that her almost-husband decided to cheat on her and sleep with Phyllis a few weeks prior. It was not the best moment to have this conversation with him, we think, but it was what she felt was right.
We think Phyllis probably disagrees. After all, she just accepted the proposal that came her way from Billy. He asked her to marry him, she said yes, and they planned their future. He would get better from his gambling and get their life in order, and he would make things right with her family, too. And that was going to be the best moment ever. But we can say with certainty he didn’t seem all that happy when he found out his brand-new fiancé was sleeping with another man. Well, she did one time. But, still. Even though she and Billy were in a bad place when this happened, we think it will have a long-lasting effect on their relationship. Whether they get married remains a mystery to us. We aren’t sure they will, but we aren’t sure they won’t. It’ll be a good week, though, if last week was any indication of what’s to come.

And now we know that Billy is really not happy about the way things turned out, and he’s going to make some big mistakes trying to get back at Phyllis for her situation with Nick. He’s not happy that the woman he just proposed to slept with her ex a few weeks ago, so he is going to get them both back by sleeping with their daughter. Summer has been trying hard all summer to get into bed with her mother’s now-fiance, and it has not worked. Now it’s going to. Billy is beyond mad at Phyllis and Nick, and he cannot think of a better way to make them pay than to take their grown daughter to bed with him. Summer might even know she’s being used, but she certainly doesn’t care. It’s too bad, though, because we did think they she might make some strides with her family.
It turns out this is not the truth, but that’s all right. Now that this is happening, we have to assume a lot more might happen in the future. Will any of these couples end up getting back together, or are they all done with one another? We cannot be certain, but we do think that there is a chance they might have a reason to make this all go down. There’s so much going on, and we wonder if Summer will end up regretting this moment in her life. She’s not really the type to care, but she might start after this.
