Photographer Uses Beer Helmets For His Flashes, Proves Japanese People Are Not Like The Others

When it comes to photography, there is no right or wrong way to get the perfect shot. It’s the end result that matters. And Japanese photographer Nishihiro knows it. He has been interested in photography since 1978, and he has just used his experience to invent an unusual lighting accessory we haven’t seen before. Nishihiro turned a beer helmet into a flash mount.

“The shadows become thinner using this flash setup,” Nishihiro told Bored Panda.

“Depending on what you need, it can be very effective,” the photographer added. “But the whole thing was a bit too heavy for my head. It was also somewhat tricky to keep the flashes balanced on the helmet. If you decide to try this out, I suggest making sure the flashes are fixed to the helmet firmly.”

Anyone can find these helmets on Amazon for about $15. But if you want softer lighting, you’d have to go full Mickey Mouse like Nishihiro did using a pair of circular diffusers.
