The Bates Motel concludes its run as season 5 is slated to start on February 20th on A&E. The show has had a remarkable run and improbable rise. The character of Norman Bates is no easy act to follow and Freddie Highmore has been brilliant as a young Norman. Vera Farmiga has been equally creepy has Bates’ mother Norman. But things appear to get even creepier in season 5. In a comic con interview Farmiga spoke to the evolution and key differences in Norma’s character. In an interview from IGN Farmiga revealed that she tried to keep herself out of the know with regard to her character.
As far as Norma, Vera stated that “while Norma is many things, one thing she is not is unforgettable. I think she’s going to be there in a very large capacity.” She also stated that she has “no idea what that means.” While we all try to determine to what capacity Norma plays in the 5th season we are at least treated to some pretty awesome teaser posters.
IGN has the debut of all four different versions of the Season 5 key art, which will be seen on billboards beginning on Monday, January 23rd. Check out the slideshow below to see Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and his mother, Norma Bates (Vera Farmiga), and just how unbreakable their bond is – even going beyond death.
