America’s Got Talent: Twelve More Acts Perform. Disaster Strikes.

America's Got Talent

Here we go again! It’s the second live show of America’s Got Talent! Which acts will improve upon their performances and earn themselves a spot in the semi-finals? Speaking of live shows, Ryan and Amber Lynn’s act went badly wrong when Amber shot a flaming arrow at Ryan and missed. The good news is that Ryan is okay, the bad news is that they may not make it to the semi-finals.

Moya Angela’s performance was good, but she didn’t let out her full voice when singing the song. I agreed with Simon when he said that Moya should let go a little more and not feel constrained regarding her singing voice. The song choice, however, was pretty good, and she at least didn’t butcher the song like other contestants did when the competition first started.

Another act that didn’t quite step it up in my opinion was Sofie Dossi. Her performance last night was similar to her previous auditions. The only thing different is that she added in a blindfold when shooting a flaming arrow with her feet. If she makes it to the semi-finals, she better think of some way to change up her contortion act. No one wants to pay big money to go to Vegas to see the same type of performance over and over.

The Clairvoyant’s act amazed me yet again. The mentalist duo was able to predict what the judges would say as the latter interacted with them using jellybeans. Those two must be some extraterrestrial beings from a distant planet or universe. I also thoroughly enjoyed Calysta Bevier’s performance. Her rendition of SaBareilles’s song Brave was spot-on. You can really hear her passion for music as she sings and the hardships that she went through when she suffered from cancer. I hope America votes for her to go through, I really do. If not, then Simon Cowell can sign her as a new singer. That is, if he’s willing to, of course.

Wild card act Steven Brundage’s act was nothing short of spectacular. Though similar to what he did in previous rounds, this time he stepped it up a bit. How did he manage to move all the red squares to the bottom of the Rubik’s Cube I’ll never know. I’m surprised that the Internet was adamant about bringing him back. Will they do the same for other acts that they feel deserving to go to the semi-finals?

Tonight is the results show. I’m not going to make any predictions, I’m not a part of The Clairvoyants. I only hope that America makes the right decision.
