I think there are some people that don’t even realize that “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” is still on television. The show is in its 14th season and still going strong. One of the things I personally love about the show is not just it’s witty commentary and amazingly accurate view of society as a whole, but the show has made a fair amount of predictions about our culture that we didn’t even see coming.
As most of you know Kellyanne Conway made the term “Alternative Facts” mainstream not long ago. Essentially she was referring to how Trump’s administration gave the public the facts that they wanted to give them, not necessarily the real ones. In other words, Conway was justifying lying to the public.
But little did we know that Mac not only predicted this years ago on Always Sunny, he made an entire presentation on it. When you actually think about it, this clip is incredibly smart. The characters are showing how important it is to know the source matter, and to have your arguments backed up in case you need to defend yourself. He’s asking really good questions, even though its supposed to be taken as ridiculous comedy.
