It’s almost time to return and party it up with denizens of Mystic Falls, and luckily for us, we will have a ‘mixtape’ of sorts to accommodate the festivities.
The Vampire Diaries: Original Television Soundtrack is coming our way with tracks from the show’s hit first season, as well as cuts from the much anticipated upcoming second season. Bands on the album include Placebo, Gorillaz, Goldfrapp, and the Smashing Pumpkins to name a few. Unfortunately, there isn’t any album art available, but we will keep you posted as soon as that is available.

There isn’t much more info released on the album except a release date and a pre-order price, which changed by the completion of this article from $18.98 to $14.99, so luckily we dodged a bullet there. Amazon.com is announcing a release date of October 12, 2010 so be sure to save that date on your TVD calenders.
The Vampire Diaries will return with new episodes on Sept 9th @ 8/7c on The CW. Be sure to look out for The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season, which will be released on August 31st. You can pre-order that title here.
