Kurt Sutter Considering Sons of Anarchy Spin-off Set in Post-Vietnam Era

Sons of Anarchy is about to wrap up its sixth season, and its seventh will be its last. But that doesn’t mean the series is done forever. Sutter recently spoke to People where he had this to say about a possible spin-off he’s considering after SOA wraps.
“I’ve had discussions with the network about it, and I think they are open to it. I think there is something really interesting about the origins of the club. And to do a period piece set in the ’60s, post-Vietnam could be kind of cool. I don’t think we would dovetail and start right after the series ended, but it’s something I’m potentially excited about it.”
The show would be about the formation of SAMCRO right after the war, not really about the Clay/John/Gemma love triangle that took place in the early 90s, but there would surely be some hints about that.
I’m not sure how I feel about this. Part of why Sons of Anarchy being exciting is you never know who might be next on the chopping block. But with the first nine? We already know the fates of the vast majority of them, which would removed most of the tension of the show.
What do you think about a Sons of Anarchy prequel?
