You would almost think that we’d be getting questions answered at this point when it comes to the Arrow premiere for season 8, but so far there are only more questions popping up and not enough answers to go around just yet. Of course it was kind of to be expected since as Matt Morrison of ScreenRant has said this season is focusing more on the future than the past, meaning that there are going to be a lot of chances to see stuff that people don’t fully understand and are going to ask questions about. It’s pretty natural for fans to want to know more about what’s going on, why they were hit with a curve ball that they weren’t expecting, and how it’s all going to pan out. With that in mind there are a few questions that people might want to really know the answer to if they’re going to keep watching.
Granted, the answers are likely to be coming along, but until then people are no doubt going to stay confused.
5. Did Bruce Wayne exist on Earth-2?
With the connection that Chase seems to have with Batman it seems likely that not much has really changed between Earth and Earth-2 to really disrupt who became what character, even if there are still very noticeable differences to be seen. But wondering as to whether Batman became who he is under the same circumstances is enough to think that he was either even more unstable or perhaps more stable than before. Would he still become the same dark knight if things were altered even a little? There are a lot of big ‘what ifs’ floating around in this season so far and would seem that the show has a long way to go to explain them all.
4. Who was Tommy’s mentor on Earth-2?
This is kind of a case of character had next to no time or ability in one earth becoming a certified badass in another earth since Tommy didn’t seem to be worth much in Earth-1 but in Earth-2 he’s the Dark Archer and has the kind of ability that he couldn’t have replicated before. As much as Earth-2 might be the same it is quite a bit different from Earth-1 since there are characters that are being displayed that might never have existed in their current form on Earth-1. The simplest things seem capable of changing the course of a life and as we can see there’s plenty to be explained as the season keeps going.
3. Laurel is walking around freely in the show. How does that happen?
When you’re a notorious war criminal it’s enough to simply go into hiding and not call attention to yourself in any way, but Laurel is walking about like she has not a care in the world thus far. There’s got to be a good explanation for this since otherwise one can imagine that she might be on the run or stuffed away in a safe house somewhere so as to keep from finding herself on someone’s radar. Why she’s able to just walk around as though no one is coming after her should warrant a good explanation and even better, could go a long way towards telling the fans just what’s going on as far as her past on Earth-2 is concerned.
2. How does Verdant exist in Earth-2?
This kind of leans on the idea that things will happen no matter who’s there to make it happen or not, since Verdant, if you can recall, was founded by Oliver Queen and Tommy Merlyn. So how does it exist when Oliver wasn’t there to set it up? This has to be one of those questions that will have a simple answer that people won’t want to listen to since it might wrap it up neatly without any need for further inspection. That however would likely be a mistake since people seem to want the answer to be deep, convoluted at times, and even tricky to figure out since anything less is going to be seen as less than worthy of the show.
1. How in the world did Batman end up on Lian Yu?
It was an ominous scene as Andy Behbakht of ScreenRant pointed out when Olive ran past the stake on which Deathstroke’s helmet was seen with an arrow through the eye hole, but it’s even more so when we see Batman’s cowl in the same position. This seems to indicate that Batman was at one point stranded on Lian Yu, but one has to wonder how and why, and what the circumstances were that would bring this moment to bear. It’s likely going to be something that we don’t really want to know since it might ruin the mystique, but there will be answers coming all the same.
Answers will come as Jay Ruymann of Hypable would agree, but until then it’s likely that people have already devised their own theories.
