Young and the Restless fans know that the people of Genoa City have a lot to offer one another, but do they have what it takes to be great? Do they have it in them to do the right thing, to make things work, and to be with the people who work the most for them? We rarely think so. Love is too fickle around here, which is not always a problem. However, it’s a problem around here for those who don’t seem to know how to make it work. We know, for example, that there are always people here who do belong together, but they seem to forget that they work so well. They end things, they mess them up, and then we are left to pick up the pieces of our own hearts. We think these couples were super couples — or they had the potential to be super couples, regardless. And that’s what is going to happen around here.
Billy and Victoria
You see, they have what it takes to be together. They have what it takes to be a good couple, and maybe even one that works out. They were together for a while, and we find them so similar to one another. They have all that it takes to be the kind of people who are not going to make a mess of their lives so much as they are just going to focus on a few things outside of their general desire. They do have some options, and that’s all right. Billy and Victoria are so much alike, and there are so many things we do like about them when they bring their situation to the table. They are good for one another, and we wish they’d realize that.
Phyllis and Jack
They are it. They are all the other needs, and that is something special. We think that they are both a little bit messed up in some ways, but they are also so good together. They are both powerful enough to be together, and they should be. They are good for one another and what they should be doing in their lives, and they make a great match. She’s strong. He’s strong, and she always finds a way to make things work with him. She’s got the right personality to work with a man like Jack, and we love that about her.
Sharon and Dylan
They were a lovely couple, and we wish things would have worked out with one another. However, they did not. He had to go into Witness Protection, and she chose to stay and be with her children. That situation was a complicated one, and we don’t think for one moment that they could have made it work in that situation. There is nothing she could have done in making a wise choice here. She has kids with other men, and she could not take them away from one another to make things work with her husband when he could never come home. Of course, Steve Burton is back to his original role on General Hospital now, and that means he is not coming back. But, GC is big on making some recasting decisions, so there is always a chance he could come back and make sure they end up together.
Jack and Nikki
Back by popular demand, but they aren’t always going to work. She’s with Victor, and he is a powerful man just like she is a powerful woman. But, they only make one half of our favorite couples. We think Nikki has two true loves in her life. She’s married to one of them, and Jack is the other. If they could find a way to make some sort of marriage work, it would also be just as great. It might be better for her to be married to Jack than Victor in some way, but what do we know? They have a lot to offer one another, and that works for us. We like it, and that is something we don’t know that they will appreciate otherwise. Some fans like what they have, and some don’t. It’s easy, but they did make a super couple.
