Sigh, the instinct of a lot of people these days when reality TV is discussed is to either roll their eyes or debate over who has the most popular show. According to Suzy Kerr from Celebrity Insider it was determined a little while ago that Don’t Be Tardy would be cancelled if it didn’t increase the drama. That’s right, they were actually told that if they didn’t up the drama quotient that the show could be cancelled and not get an eight season. Kate Philips of Change.org actually came up with a petition to get the show cancelled, which is eye-popping since it means that there is now proof that there’s still something called common sense among the populace. It’s kind of funny that the show wants her to add more drama since she seems to live it, particularly after being accused of being a racist in a piece that Dave Quinn of People covered as of last year. She went off the chain when it came out that people were attacking her left and right about her comments to NeNe Leakes. That seems like plenty of drama for an entire season if not more, but apparently the show wants more.
I think ‘oy vey’ would cover it, but there are a few more reasons why this show just needs to go.
10. It’s the glorification of a rather vapid family.
They’re not interesting, not even remotely. Watching them for a moment, listening to them, is enough to lower a person’s IQ no matter that they’re supposedly rather intelligent individuals that are supposedly decent people.
9. The raise negotiation was ridiculous.
Honestly it would seem great if the showrunners would just sit there and laugh at the people that are demanding raises when it comes to a new season or when their contracts are coming up for re-negotiation. The fact that the show hasn’t been all that popular seems to indicate that Kim and the others shouldn’t have had a leg to stand on.
8. The ratings are horrible.
People have actually walked away from this show which, as I said above, is proof that common sense still exists. Reality shows are at this point a very ridiculous aspect of TV that has been going downhill for a long time now, and this show has to be one of the worst.
7. There’s actually a rumor that Kim or Brielle needs to get pregnant to stimulate the show.
Imagine the protests and uproar that would occur if this ever got to the wrong peoples’ ears. Well, to be honest, someone would have to care about the show at first in order to actually have a problem with this, but asking women to get pregnant just to improve the ratings seems, well, wrong.
6. The network wants the drama to increase.
There’s not enough apparently. How that’s possible seems kind of impossible since shows like these are so drama-laden that just watching five minutes is sometimes the equivalent of watching a couple hours of daytime soap operas, but with less actual content.
5. They make a ridiculous amount of money for very little work.
Even after reading about what goes on behind the scenes it would seem that they don’t do much, they’re not required to do much, and even the standard day for these folks is not that hard when you compare them to say, an average office worker. Honestly, they don’t seem to do all that much no matter how much bad acting it takes to me
4. There’s a certain lack of morality that’s just not there.
They’re not horrible people but they’re certainly not the angels they think they are and that they tell others they are. Each time they break down crying or have ‘issues’ it almost makes a person want to laugh. Call me horrible, they don’t have that many serious problems in their lives that a generous amount of cash can’t solve.
3. It’s another show that features very entitled kids that whine about everything.
Is anyone still falling for this act? The kids that are featured on these shows are typically spoiled, entitled brats that are made to seem as though they’re simply misunderstood and just want people to like the ‘real them’ when in truth the ‘real them’ is the kind of person that is used to having everything given to them and wouldn’t know how to earn a dollar if their lives depended upon it.
2. It’s another show that banks heavily on the fame of a famous NFL player.
It’s not just Jay Cutler that managed to find something to do once he was done with the NFL, or once it was done with him, either way.
1. It’s reality TV, it simply needs to go.
If you ask what would be left the answer should make you laugh since there are many upon many shows that could take up the space left behind, and this show wouldn’t be missed for more than a few days at best.
It’s time for the show to go, find the petition and sign away.
