10 Things You Didn’t Know about DJ Khaled

It doesn’t seem like we go all that long without seeing or hearing about DJ Khaled these days since he’s made such a big reputation when it comes to music and his many appearances within various media circles. The larger than life businessman has been hitting it pretty heavy when it comes to establishing himself as a talent and as a man throughout show business for well onto two decades now and it would seem that all that hard work and determination began paying off a while back. The fact that he’s been so prominent here and there throughout movies and TV is a testament to the kind of work he’s put in and the effort he’s put forth in bringing his name to where it can be seen by the greatest number of people. The fact that he can back up his talk and his ability to hype himself is even better though since it makes his reputation continue to grow by leaps and bounds.

Here are a few other things you might not have known about Khaled.

10. He’s got an amazing number of followers on social media.

It’s usually pretty impressive if a celebrity has a million or more followers on social media but the DJ Khaled we’re talking about the TENS of millions that frequent his feed and seem to want to see what’s going on in his continuing career. There’s a serious love for this guy that a lot of people share and it shows.

9. His parents were entirely supportive of his career from the start.

This is always a big up for anyone that’s trying to do something special with their life since a lot of times you’ll hear how celebrities have, unfortunately, had to deal with a great deal of hardship either at home or on their way to fame. Khaled is one of the few that had the support of his family from day one.

8. Khaled worked in a record store to begin with.

This would be like taking a kid to a candy shop and telling them to get busy, but Khaled, who already had a strong desire to have a career in music, put himself to the task and made something great happen even while getting his job done and pushing forward towards his goal.

7. He wrote a book that was published in 2016.

In this book he details everything he did to be successful and how it was that he came to be the person he is. In a way it’s almost like a guidebook that others can look at and possibly apply to their own lives.

6. Khaled has a line of luxury furniture that he started in 2018.

Obviously this guy wants to do a little of everything as he’s gone into the kind of business that isn’t all about music and allows him to be pretty mobile between one facet of his life and another. While the furniture business isn’t always entirely stable you can imagine that it still turns a decent profit even when interest is down.

5. He’s been doing his thing since around the late 90s.

Officially it would seem that Khaled has been doing the DJ routine since around 1998, but it’s fair to think that he’s been experimenting and setting up his act for longer than that since DJ’s don’t just pop out of the woodwork ready to spin a record and lay down a sick jam.

4. Khaled has helped a few artists on their way up.

He hasn’t been stingy on his way up, that’s for certain, as he’s helped out other individuals with their own careers along the way such as Birdman, Lil’ Wayne, and Mavado. The guy is one of those that wants to see others do well and will gladly help them out, no doubt if they’re willing to repay the favor at one time or another. It might not be that anything is free in the business, but a favor is always worth its weight in gold.

3. He’s lost well over forty pounds.

Khaled used to weigh close to 300 lbs., but after going on Weight Watchers for a while he dropped a good deal of weight and has slimmed down quite a bit. His determination and follow-through are kind of inspiring to see.

2. Khaled is a devout Muslim.

He does like to adhere to his religion and culture and apparently is very devout in his faith. You might not see this from his many appearances but it’s not something a person should doubt.

1. His net worth is estimated to be over $35 million.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering all the work he’s done with various musicians and the work he’s done on his own. Also there are the other means that he’s had of creating income that likely add to this.

He’s an intelligent and very capable man, that’s for certain.
