10 Things You Don’t Know About the Young and the Restless’ Camryn Grimes

We love Young and the Restless and the people they cast. This is one show that does a stellar job figuring out how they want to cast their roles and then making it work, and we love that about them. One of our most favorite recent additions to the show — and not even all that recent to be quite honest — is the character Mariah Copeland. She’s the daughter of Sharon Newman, and she’s totally awesome. She’s witty and funny, and she’s serious, and she always brings something we want to see to the table. Right now, we just want to get to know more about the lovely Camryn Grimes. She’s the real life woman who plays Mariah.

1. She’s the Oldest of Seven

Her parents wanted a lot of kids, or they just didn’t know what they did to keep bringing them home (we kid). Camryn is the oldest of seven kids, which is a lot of children. We think they must have had a fun childhood with all those kids to play with.

2. She’s A California Girl

She’s born and raised in Van Nuys, California. She was born on January 7, 1990. This means her siblings are quite a bit younger than her, and many of them probably still live at home. We don’t know if there is anything else we can say about that.

3. She Was Sharon’s Other Daughter

So, you might recognize her from that time she was on YTR and she was Sharon’s daughter. No, not the daughter she has now. She wasn’t always Mariah. First, she was Cassie. Cassie, however, died in a car accident a few years ago. She came back as her own ghost, and then she came back as her twin sister no one knew about.

4. She Set a Record

For a very long time, General Hospital’s Kimberly McCullough was the youngest person to ever win an Emmy, because she was only 11 when she won. However, Camryn Grimes won an Emmy at the age of 10, so she actually ended up taking over that record and title.

5. She Was In a Bigtime Movie

Do you remember Swordfish? She was in that movie with some very famous faces. She was with Hugh Jackman, John Travolta, and Halle Berry. She also starred in some famous television shows, too. She’s a woman who is all over the place.

6. She’s Got a Famous Uncle

She was a guest star on a show called ER once upon a time. She was on the show with her famous uncle, Scott Grimes. He’s been in the business and on that show for a long time.

7. She Loves Hamilton

She likes to reference Hamilton. She even headed over to Twitter recently to tell her fans she hopes they can find her reference in a few weeks when the episode airs after she read the script for the first time. It’s all kind of good stuff.

8. She Loves her Own GIFS

I mean, shouldn’t we all? If we all had a chance to have a GIF of our own, wouldn’t we be super excited? She was, and she looked for them. She even asked her fans where to find them on the internet.

9. She’s Body Positive

She’s once said on Twitter that she’s not even sure why she gets mad at her body sometimes. She was on a trip to Hawaii doing all kinds of physical activities, and she was quite proud of all she could handle. She even said that her body is a boss, and she’s happy about all of that. She is someone we can all look up to and take some notes.

10. She’s funny

If you aren’t sure whether or not she’s hilarious, just take a moment to head to her Twitter page to see for yourself. She is. She’s hilarious. She’s got jokes. She’s got hilarious tips she shares with her followers in a kind of “well, it would work and it is genius,” kind of hilarious and not so real manner. Did we mention we love her? Like, a lot? If you’re not following her on social media, perhaps you should rethink that life choice right about now.
