Duck Dynasty has obviously become, over time, one of the most talked about and lauded series to ever hit the TV for a number of reasons. Some people like to make fun of it, others like to watch and be entertained, and some simply believe in the story so much that they’ll listen to just about anything the stars have to say and call it gospel. To think that it came from a simple business that had done well for those involved to become something that’s known the world over isn’t too hard to believe in this day and age when the media can grab hold of just about anything and turn it into an instant sensation. In truth it’s not surprising that it took off like it did, but it is a little surprising that it lasted so long since truly the family is interesting in their own way, but doesn’t seem as though they’re that pumped about being broadcast throughout the world all the time.
Let’s see what’s happening to the cast at this point.
Jase Robertson
Jase is among those that didn’t think the show would really take off since when you look at reality shows a lot of them feature a great deal of swearing, fighting, and overused drama that ocmes off as extremely bad acting. To his way of thinking the Robertson’s don’t have a lot of that, and to be honest he’s right. They have their quirks and their strange ways, according to some, but overall they’re a rather even-tempered family without a lot of issues. Jase however is the kind of guy that since he was a kid decided to take as many days off of school as was allowed to go hunting and fishing with his father, enjoying the rugged lifestyle as it allowed him to get closer to his dad and enjoy the life that he came to embrace.
Si Robertson
Si sounds like the craziest one of the bunch and it’s not by accident but it’s also kind of an act at times since let’s face it, producers want some kind of quirky attitude in their reality shows. The reality of Si however is that he did attend high school, following in his brother Phil’s footsteps when it came to football, and he did attend college for three quarters before dropping out, whereupon he was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War. He’s appeared on a few other hunting shows and has even made an appearance with Willie on Last Man Standing at one point. If you really want to go further with his fame, look at any Fred Meyer’s store and you might find a Si Chia Pet too.
Willie Robertson
Despite looking kind of like a hick Willie is a highly educated man with a degree in business that has managed to take his father’s company to new heights that Phil might have never imagined originally. He’s been all about the life since he was a kid and was always interested in his father’s organization, despite the fact that it started out fairly small. Willie has spent time on other shows as a guest star, and appeared with his uncle Si on Last Man Standing. At this time he’s the CEO of Duck Commander and has a net worth of about $20 million. That’s a long way from what the company used to be worth.
Phil Robertson
Phil hasn’t been shy about stating his beliefs on TV and over the internet throughout the years and when it comes to something that he believes in he’s certainly not going to be quiet. But no matter what anyone says about him Phil is a highly educated man and the only reason he never went to play for the NFL is because it conflicted with hunting season. He was a starter ahead of Terry Bradshaw when it came to college and if not for his one true love he might have gotten signed to the Washington Redskins. As it sits now he has no regrets since he’s been able to do what he loves for quite some time and is still vocal when it comes to several issues in America.
Like always it’s the right of anyone and everyone to voice what they feel and believe when it comes to one show or another, but whether you liked it or not, Duck Dynasty became a TV show that managed to reach millions and has also given the Robertsons a humongous platform from which to spread their words and ideas throughout the world. Depending on how you feel about them you might listen up or change the channel, but the truth of it is for every single person that turns them off or tunes them out, there’s about ten more that will be interested.
