Why Better Call Saul Season 4 Could Be Its Best Season Yet

Although its premiere date has been delayed, Better Call Saul is definitely coming back for Season 4 later on this year, and we’re predicting that it’ll be the show’s best season yet. Better Call Saul is the prequel to the story of Breaking Bad’s Saul Goodman, who is also known as Jimmy McGill. We’ve been learning about the origin story of Jimmy before he became Saul over the last three seasons. While previous seasons have been more than great, we’ve listed here 5 reasons why this upcoming season of Better Call Saul should be the best one yet.

Returning cast

Bob Odenkirk has been more than amazing on this show, but the show is made up of more than just one character. There’s nothing better than knowing the characters to your favorite show have survived another season. In this case, we know for sure that at least one character will not be returning, and that’s Chuck McGill as played by Michael McKean. McGill committed suicide in the Season 3 finale, and it’s unclear at this point whether we’ll be seeing him in flashbacks on Season 4. Still, it’ll be really interesting to see how his death will affect the show’s dynamic altogether.

Possibility of Breaking Bad character appearances

Fans have been clamoring for it. Writers have been dreaming it up. We’re sure that everyone else in the world wouldn’t mind it happening. But it seems as if we’ll be seeing the return of some Breaking Bad characters onto the screen. It’s been rumored (and possibly Instagram-confirmed) that Dean Norris and Aaron Paul Jesse might be coming on to Better Call Saul to reprise their roles as DEA Agent Hank Schrader and Jesse Pinkman respectively. Nothing excites us better about this show than this prospect.

Darkest season yet

The last three seasons have gotten darker over the years, and it only makes sense considering that Jimmy’s character has to go completely dark in order to become Saul. It seems that this coming season is going to be even darker for Jimmy McGill, as he slowly transforms into the questionable character that he played in Breaking Bad. There’s still a possibility that we might actually see Jimmy’s alternate persona come out this season. That’s reason enough to watch every single episode until we finally see if it happens or not.

Flash-forwards

So we know that Jimmy is spiraling out of control, and it’s only going to get worse in Season 4. The cool thing about that though is the fact that we might be getting flash forwards to Jimmy’s life as a Cinnabon manager. We’re not sure what that means for the story, but as far as the showrunners are concerned, these flash-forwards are definitely happening.

The end is near

We can feel it. We know that the ending is coming soon. We also know that the creators of the show didn’t plan for Better Call Saul to go beyond 5 seasons, and there’s even a possibility that next season might be its last. This means that the show will probably pull as many stops as it can, one being the Goodman stop. We think that Saul Goodman will be making his debut in Season 4. That’s exciting to think about, but thinking about why and how the persona even exists is what intrigues us the most.
