The Top Five Cameos from Agents of SHIELD

The Top Five Cameos from Agents of SHIELD

It’s happened. ABC’s Agents of SHIELD has defeated the odds and have lasted at least for longer than 3 seasons. The show is actually in its 5th season now, and it’s worlds better now than it was in the past. It’s the characters that keep this show going strong. Their cohesiveness and their individualities at the same time make the show worth watching and following season after season. We’ve also gotten a healthy dose of cameos over the years, and they’re no small cameos either. Here are the top 5 popups we’ve seen over the last few years of watching Agents of SHIELD.

Stan Lee

We knew this was going to happen at some point early on, and we weren’t disappointed when it did happen. It’s always a treat whenever we see Stan Lee in any Marvel project, and his cameo in SHIELD was no exception. In the cameo, Lee had a moment of sympathy for Agent Simmons while she was on a mission on a train with the rest of the team. It was a lighthearted moment, much like most of Lee’s cameos are, and it solidified Agents of SHIELD’s status as a Marvel project.

Nick Fury

This was a huge deal when it happened the first time in season 1 episode 2, but then it happened again later on in the season on episode 22. Nick Fury is a big deal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and just the fact that Samuel L. Jackson would make not one but two appearances in the show is another nod to the show’s credibility as part of Marvel altogether. He hasn’t turned up since then, but who’s to say that he won’t in the future–even after what Thanos recently did in Infinity Wars.

Peggy Carter

This cameo was inevitable, especially since her show, Agent Carter, was going on simultaneously with Agents of SHIELD. There were so many crossovers in the story as well. Hayley Atwell’s Carter became the bridge between the Hydra stories from the past to the Hydra story of SHIELD’s present. Carter appeared in Season 2 of the show through various flashbacks.

Lady Sif

We didn’t expect for the God of Thunder to show up on the humble show, but Thor’s friend Lady Sif, played by Jaimie Alexander, was more than enough to compensate. She actually had a couple of cameos: one in Season 1 and another in Season 2. In her first cameo, she was tracking down an Asgardian, while in the second cameo, Lady Sif was tracking down a Kree, Vin-Tak.

Maria Hill

Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill is also another familiar face in the MCU, especially when it comes to SHIELD. Hill is Nick Fury’s partner, and she was also former Deputy Director of SHIELD. She had a cameo in the show’s first episode to set Coulson up with the team and again in Episode 20 when SHIELD was outed as Hydra. Hill had another cameo in Episode 19 of Season 2 through a video call with Coulson.
