Coming off from the huge success of the Black Panther film, Michael B. Jordan is raising the temperature yet again with his latest film through HBO, Fahrenheit 451. Based on the groundbreaking 1953 novel of the same title by Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 is about a future where books are outlawed and burned by the very same people that used to eradicate fires. Fahrenheit 451, a classic in today’s standards, was one of the most controversial books of our history. The movie promises to bring back feelings of uneasiness that once was felt by readers during the time when the book was first published.

In the trailer, we see Michael B. Jordan as Guy Montag, the movie’s protagonist. Montag is the ultimate worker bee. He follows and implements the law on book burning with no question, but as the trailer goes on, we see his conflict begin to develop. Before we know it, Montag is in absolute confusion about what he feels and believes, versus what he is being told to do by his superior. Playing that role is Michael Shannon, who already looks amazingly convincing in the trailer alone. Shannon is Captain Beatty in the movie, Montag’s boss. There was a time when Beatty loved reading and loved books, but he grew to dislike books because of their content.

The trailer focuses on the dialogue and relationship of these two characters amidst all the background fire. It looks quite interesting and intimidating at the same time. For those who have never read the book, now is the time to get to know this classic story. We’ve waited a while to see a remake/reboot of this, and we can already tell that Jordan and Shannon are just the right actors for the parts. HBO is set to premiere the film on May 19 at 8 PM.
