Almost everyone has that favorite childhood memory that they can go back to again and again, something that made them feel safe and secure. It’s amazing how many of those childhood memories are directly linked to a Dr. Seuss book. Almost every child in the United States has been exposed to most of these books and for some of them, the books became a very important part of growing up.
Recently, a certain Dr. Seuss book was given new life when Win Nevaluze and Jay Lava performed while rapping Seuss’s “There’s a Wocket in My Pocket!,” all done to the song “Walk It, Talk It” by Migo and Drake.

It really is quite a memorable little performance, one that shows their immense amount of creativity. After all, most people wouldn’t really think about linking a Dr. Seuss book to a song and creating a rap video involving both. However, that is exactly what these two did and it worked beautifully.
Who knows, this just might be a new way to usher in an entirely different era involving the Dr. Seuss books. Times are changing, and kids aren’t really accustomed to growing up the same way that older individuals grew up. If the books themselves are to stay relevant, there has to be a way to allow them to change with the times. This is an excellent example of doing exactly that. In fact, it’s hard to imagine a better example of keeping the books at the forefront of childhood experiences and making sure that they don’t fall by the wayside as interests continue to progress to different areas.
