People aren’t exactly being supportive of Clueless actress Stacey Dash as she’s decided to withdraw her bid for congress. It seems to be the time to ridicule people that are attempting to do something that might be positive in government, but at the same time one has to wonder if good intentions are going to be enough for actors to break into the system and make any kind of lasting change. The fact that it’s been done before by another actor and a reality star doesn’t seem to make it possible for others, but it does tend to help if they know what they’re getting into and what’s going to happen when they decide to run.
Had Dash stayed in a lot of people believe that she would have lost her bid for congress anyway, but now that she’s dropped out people are being merciless when it comes to denouncing her and stating that her chances were next to none. They funny thing is that this is what a lot of people said about Trump when he first started making his bid for the presidency. Dash has decided to drop out due to the fact that overwhelming negativity of the entire mess might be detrimental to her family, which isn’t too far off the mark but unfortunately gives her detractors all the fuel they need to harangue her endlessly. At this time there’s been no shortage of people trying to tell her just what they think and how they feel as it pertains to her attempt at joining congress.
Unfortunately it could also be that she wouldn’t be able to survive in the government swamp that doesn’t seem to be draining as quickly as Trump said it would. In fact it almost seems to be getting worse in some regards as the people he’s appointed to office and those that are now in charge of so many different facets of our country seem more likely to continue the old practices that people have been laboring under for so long. Change might be a good thing at this point, but it doesn’t appear that Stacey will be the one to bring it about. Instead she will head back home and perhaps continue to do what she can from a quieter and more personal standpoint. There’s no telling if she would have made a difference or not now, but the idea was something that was worth considering at the time.
Something has to change in this country for people to finally get along and agree that our government is out to protect and serve us, not the other way around. At this point the consensus seems to be that those in control have just about forgotten what it means to serve people, if they ever knew in the first place. One large concern is that anyone stepping into a spot in Washington DC is that they will have completely forgotten what it was like to roll up their sleeves and put in an honest day’s work to get something done.
