For those that believe in the Hollywood Medium and his abilities it might be a hard thing to swallow but the guy is not as legit as some seem to think. By now you might have heard about Tyler Henry and his role in Hollywood as the Hollywood Medium. You might have even seen a couple of his reading with famous people like John Salley or Boy George as shown above. What you won’t hear about in Hollywood though is how he is perhaps one of the biggest scam artists of the modern era. Let’s give him this much, he believes in what he’s doing and he believes in the fortune he’s making off of it because the stars do seem to believe that he’s legit. The only issue with this is that if you really watch the show you’ll be able to spot certain ways that Henry is able to play upon the lives of those he ‘reads’ without ever having to go too deep into their pasts.
There are a lot of tells that Henry gives off, and some of them have been revealed as slips by those that know how to watch.
5. The props are a little too obvious.
Some of the things that he’s given to aid him in his readings are items that are quite obviously old or have been used for various purposes that could be easily researched. Even if the research isn’t there the observant medium would know to remark on certain aspects of a person’s life in order to gauge their reaction and adjust their reading accordingly. For instance, the pocket knife that Matt Lauer gave Tyler to hold was quite obviously an older piece and could have easily belonged to someone else.
4. He focuses on vague and known details.
Tyler’s details that he receives while performing his readings are by necessity kind of vague and don’t go into a great amount of detail. When he does happen to talk about specific details however they tend to be things that have been talked about online, sometimes by the people he’s reading and other times in articles that have been formed on the person he’s speaking to. This denotes the fact that while says he doesn’t watch TV, he at least pays attention to other sources.
3. Everything he says is easy to Google.
Just because he doesn’t watch TV doesn’t mean that he doesn’t get online and do his research. He’s technically not lying if all he does is surf the web and doesn’t watch the TV to gain his information. But he is tending to fib a bit about not knowing anything about the people he’s going to read for. Unless he lives in a remote area of the world where he can’t get internet reception, which Hanford most certainly does, he’d have no real trouble in securing information about his clients.
2. It’s very easy to convince someone that already believes in this that they too can be a medium.
Those that actually believe in him are already prone to the suggestion that they too might have the kind of skills that could help them to do this same thing. Without seeming to be too snarky he managed to convince two of the Kardashian sisters that they too could learn how to channel their intuitive powers to read people. It’s fair to say that some people might have been laughing after this appearance.
1. While he claims to want to help others that seems to mean sticking to an elite clientele and ignoring those that are truly seeking his help.
There are thousands of people that have attempted to enlist his help reading their past but Henry seems to follow the money and stick with his elite clientele. It’s not a bad move really but it does tend to paint him as more a fraud since he’s willing to sell his services to those that are willing to gain just a little more publicity and help him elevate himself in the process. Perhaps if he tried to read someone that was not as susceptible to believing the hype things would change.
Mediums are for the most part very observant individuals, but is the extent of their abilities.
