Five Great Movie Scenes That Involved a Tasty Amount of Waffles

There seems to be a day for just about everything now so why not a waffle day? In truth Waffle Day is more to celebrate the patent of the waffle iron but it’s grown to incorporate peoples’ love of waffles and has gone so far as to be included in movies and TV as well. There are literally hundreds of places in the world, if not more, to dine on waffles in many different ways, but no matter where or how you eat them these breakfast treats are something filling and are extremely versatile when it comes to what you want on them.

And they’re so easy to make that improving on them is a cinch, and a must.

5. 50 First Dates

You might think that making a waffle house out of your breakfast would be something you might remember doing each and every day but Lucy’s head injury has prevented her from ever making any memories past the day of her accident. Because of this she doesn’t even know what year it really is and couldn’t possibly remember meeting Henry each and every day when he tries to talk to her, no doubt wondering just what’s going on when she suddenly freaks out on him after a while.

4. Shrek Forever After

Nobody ever said that Donkey was intelligent and, well, that’s about it. You notice a plate of perfectly positioned waffles with just enough syrup to be tantalizing to the senses in the middle of a forest and you think they look tasty? Well, they might, but the fact that they’re on a stump that’s been perfectly leveled and in the middle of a clearing should be a good giveaway that they’re anything but safe.

3. Ladykillers

So honestly they’re in the diner but they’re not eating yet, but that’s the idea is that they’re going to be dining on some waffles very soon. This movie is something else since the group that is trying to plan a heist is one of the most ragtag groups ever devised from some of the greatest actors. Yet they couldn’t get along if they tried and to be quite honest their characters don’t try very hard.

2. Play it to the Bone

When you’re an over the hill boxer that has no other chance to make it big aside from an impromptu match you take whatever comes along. But for the two men in this movie this match is more of a joke for the promoters and a last chance at anything great they could do for them. But honestly it doesn’t seem like a great idea to start loading up on waffles right before a fight, but hey, I’m not a boxer so maybe it’s a great idea.

1. Austin Powers: Goldmember

Goldmember is certifiably insane, who in the world would enjoy a cigar and a waffle? A waffle, yes. A cigar, yes. But together? That seems like a rather odd pairing for any movie and it’s kind of thankful that it’s more of a joke than anything.

Who doesn’t enjoy a good waffle now and then?
