Five Things You Didn’t Know about Tom Lennon

Thomas Patterson is a name and face that you should know fairly well since he’s been a mainstay in Hollywood for a while now and has had some very memorable roles. Apart from that he’s done a lot of work behind the screens as well, making sure that stories and scripts are kept straight and allowed to keep their integrity while being hammered into shape. He’s had a lot to do with the success of many movies since he’s what is called a script doctor, which is basically someone that takes an existing script and polishes it up to make certain that it’s worth proceeding with.

He’s done a little bit of everything as far as writing and acting goes.

5. He’s a Jackie Chan fan.

The film The Pacifier was originally intended for Jackie Chan but when it became a Vin Diesel movie things had to change. Lennon is a big-time Chan fan and who can blame him. The action quotient that Chan brings to any movie is something stupendous just to think of, and it could have elevated The Pacifier just a bit, but the studio wanted to go with Diesel so the film had to adapt to the change.

4. He was in a comedy troupe called the New Group.

It seems like a lot of writers and comedians have been a part of one troupe or another while attempting to get their legs under them in an effort to pursue their career. Obviously his time with the New Group was well spent since his comedy is at times kind of hard to get used to but it’s still something that’s timed just right so that you can laugh and not feel guilty about it during certain situations.

3. He’s a producer and a screenwriter.

While it seems like a lot of actors and comedians become producers there still aren’t a lot of them that go all in on screenwriting. It is kind of a lengthy process and while many people can act not all of them can write and vice versa. Sometimes it pays to stick to your strengths but if you’re equally strong in both venues then why not pursue both? So far Lennon has shown that he has skill in both areas.

2. He’s done a fair share of voice acting.

His voice has been featured in a couple of Tinkerbell movies as well as the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie. Listening to him talk you can imagine that has the talent to make his voice do just about anything it wants within reason, but he’s also been able to employ it in a Batman cartoon as well. That proves he’s got a bit of a range it would seem.

1. He was in Balls of Fury.

Remember Karl Wolfschtagg? Randy Daytona’s nemesis? He was absolutely horrible really but he was fun to watch since he was such an over the top character. Personally I would have liked to have seen Karl last until the end but obviously it had to come down to Daytona fighting the main bad guy. Karl was just a gimmick but he was awesome.

This one is for you Daytona!
