A lot of people will be most familiar with Bob Odenkirk because of his role as Saul Goodman AKA Jimmy McGill on both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. However, it should be noted that he has appeared in a wide range of projects over the course of his three-decade career, with examples ranging from Saturday Night Live to providing a voice for a character in the upcoming Incredibles 2. Furthermore, Odenkirk is not just an actor but has also done a fair amount of directing, producing, and writing. For proof, look no further than the Netflix movie Girlfriend’s Day, which saw his involvement as the lead, one of the the co-writers, and one of the co-producers.
As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that Odenkirk is now involved with another project as the lead as well as both a developer and a producer. However, the nature of this new project will come as a surprise to some, seeing as how Nobody will be an action thriller. With that said, there should not be too much surprise since the upcoming movie will be starring Odenkirk as a relatively ordinary man who has been pushed past his limits.
What Else Do We Know About Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody?
Story-wise, a fair amount has been revealed about Nobody. In short, Odenkirk plays a man who comes to the assistance of a woman who is being harassed by a group of thugs. Unfortunately, this results in a fight, which sees his character sending the brother of a drug lord to the hospital. Unsurprisingly, the drug lord is less than pleased about this particular outcome, which is why he sets out to seek revenge. Based on this information, it is not difficult to see why Nobody is being called an action thriller.
Besides this, it is interesting to note that Nobody will be featuring the involvement of a number of figures from recent movies of a similar nature. For example, the script will be written by Derek Kolstad, who was the one who wrote the script for John Wick as well. Furthermore, the executive producers will be including not just Kolstad but also both David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, who are not just the directors of John Wick but also the co-founders of 87Eleven. Combined with the fact that one of the co-producers work on both Wind River and Hell or High Water, it is no exaggeration to say that there is an incredible amount of action thriller expertise and experience behind Nobody, which bodes well for the eventual product.
Further Considerations
Of course, Nobody is still in the earlier stages of production at this point in time. As a result, it will be some time until interested individuals can get a real idea of what it will be like. However, considering the talent that has been lined up behind the project, it seems reasonable to assume that it possesses a fair amount of potential that could result in something worth watching on the movie screen. For the time being, interested individuals should wait for further news, which will reveal whether this turns out to be the case or not.
