Fans love to make trailers and as far as the man of steel goes this one was kind of cool. It even managed to include other DCEU characters, at least a couple, and made it seem like it could possibly work. Of course if you watched the clip you saw a bunch of movies lumped in, even some that didn’t have a single thing to do with Superman in the first place. But the way they were utilized was actually kind of impressive. Obviously this fan wants the man of steel to face the alien intelligence known as Brainiac, and Supergirl, to get in on the next Superman movie. That might be cool really since Supergirl has already been asked for on several occasions. Her role as a TV hero might eventually expand into that of a movie heroine as it did back in 1984. For some reason I remember being scared about that one since I was still kind of young, but I don’t recall why.
It couldn’t have been Supergirl, she was the best part of the whole movie and the most memorable. But one thing about Supergirl is that she’s actually older than her cousin Superman. She knows how to utilize her powers a little more efficiently and she has been rumored to be just a bit faster and even stronger than Superman. How that would play out in the film I don’t know, but I do get the feeling that if such knowledge was made public in a big way then people might start to divide once again as those that love Superman would say that no way is any superhero greater than he is, while others might state that Supergirl needs her time to shine finally.
Brainiac is one of Superman’s greatest enemies since he has a penchant for stealing the knowledge and resources from worlds and then leaving them as dried out husks or destroying them. He’s considered to be the man of steel’s 2nd most dangerous enemy after Lex Luthor. To pit him against Superman would be an epic story in and of itself since it would also be something that would require a massive amount of special effects and top of the line CGI to make everything look the the way it should.
This fan no doubt did their homework and tried to make everything look as good as possible for this trailer and they did a great job really. I can list a few areas they got the clips though, and Man of Steel is definitely one of them, as is Supergirl, and Superman Returns. The other most obvious ones are the scene from the Matrix in which Neo and Smith fall to the ground and every window and wall virtually explodes with the force of their impact. The others are from Star Trek: Nemesis, with Shinzon taking the role of the green-skinned Brainiac.
But like I said, hats off to this fan, they obviously put some work into this trailer and know what they want to see.
