Titans is a web series that will be coming out for a still unnamed DC Comics streaming service at some point in 2018. Like its name suggests, it will be based on the Teen Titans, who some people might remember from either Teen Titans or its spin-off Teen Titans Go! Currently, the casting has started up for Titans, which has caused some people to speculate about which DC Comics supervillain will be the first name of note to show up on the web series.
At the moment, there is an enormous amount of speculation surrounding a character named Evan Logue, who is mentioned as being a man in his 30s or his 40s. Furthermore, the character is supposed to be rather charismatic in nature, which makes sense considering that he is supposed to be the head of a cult as well. Finally, it should be mentioned that the character is described as being interested in reuniting his family, which suggests that he does not exactly have the best relationship with his family members at the start of the web series.
Based on these characteristics, a lot of people are speculating about Evan Logue being Trigon, an inter-dimensional demon who rules over numerous worlds. First and foremost, this seems to be because of the mention of Evan Logue seeking to reunite his family, seeing as how Trigon has a rather hostile relationship with his daughter Raven, who will be a member of the main cast on Titans. For that matter, it should be mentioned that Raven’s mother Arella will be cast for the web series as well, which provides further fuel for the speculation that Raven’s family background will come up in the first season. Said speculation is further strengthened by a statement that the character of Evan Logue won’t be showing up until the eleventh and twelfth episodes, which suggests that he might be set up in those episodes as a future villain of some significance. If so, Trigon would be an excellent choice for an over-arching villain for the Teen Titans, both because of his in-setting power and because of his out-of-setting name recognition.
Of course, there are other possibilities as well. For example, other people have suggested Brother Blood, whose single most essential characteristic would be his status as a cult leader. Otherwise, the different incarnations of the character in different projects can take on a surprising range of forms, which could explain the curious mention of Evan Logue wanting to reunite his family. With that said, it is amusing to note that at least one Brother Blood has run a cult centered around the worship of Trigon, meaning that one could well lead to the other.
Regardless, there is not enough information to come up with a certain answer for who Evan Logue might be, though for the time being, it is fun to speculate about it. Titans will be coming out sometime in 2018, meaning that it should not be too long until interested individuals get more information that will help them sate their curiosity.
