Next year marks the 35th anniversary of the William S. Paley Television Festival, otherwise known as PaleyFest. The Festival, which will take place in LA’s world-renowned Dolby Theatre, is a unique gathering open to anyone who is a television fan. PaleyFest 2018 will offer an opportunity to watch some of the hottest new shows on the big screen, as well as participate in a Q&A with cast members and the creative team — in person!
What We Know So Far
Though the full lineup won’t be announced until January 9th of next year, a sneak peak offered on PaleyFest’s website lists three major shows whose cast will convene for the Q&A sessions in March. First on the list is the Duffer Brothers’ critically-acclaimed series Stranger Things. Although they have been fairly secretive regarding the highly-anticipated third season of their hit show, perhaps we will get some answers during the panels at PaleyFest!
The next show on the lineup is The Good Doctor. Based on a South Korean series of the same name, ABC’s new medical drama has scored a coveted spot at PaleyFest — despite uncertainty that the show was going to return for a second season. Though it seems unlikely that the cast of a cancelled series would turn up for a Q&A session, we will know for sure sometime in March.
The third and final show teased for the panels at PaleyFest 2018 is NBC’s revival of Will and Grace. Though the ninth season isn’t quite over, a tenth season has already been confirmed by NBC! Even after the show’s 11-year hiatus, it has had a solid critical response. During the panels at PaleyFest, perhaps some questions will be answered about where the show is going for the next season, and if we can expect an 11th season.
The full lineup won’t be announced until January 9th, but we can hope to see some more of our favorite shows on the list — and some more of our favorite entertainers on the panels at PaleyFest!
How Can You Attend PaleyFest?
Tickets won’t go on sale until January 9th, and that is only for Paley Patrons, Paley Supporting Members, and Citi cardmembers. On the 11th, Paley Individual Members are eligible to buy tickets and passes. Ticket sales are not open to the general public until the 12th. Anyone can become a member to take advantage of the presale head start — tickets go fast for such a prestigious event!
PaleyFest will take place from March 16th to March 25th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Located right down the block from the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the Dolby Theatre is pretty hard to miss. Parking entrances are available on Highland Avenue and Orange Drive, and will cost $2.00 for four hours, with an additional $1 charge for each 15-minute block afterwards (to a maximum of $15). Keep in mind that Dolby Theatre will not validate parking, so it might be advisable to take public transportation or a taxi if you want to avoid extravagant parking fees.
PaleyFest 2018 is a fantastic opportunity for any TV fan to see some of their favorite stars and hear about upcoming shows directly from the cast and creatives!
