Hot Blooded by Foreigner isn’t a hard song to understand or define. We all get that way once or twice, or more, in our lives when we come across a person or a situation in which our blood seems to warm up just a bit. Biologically-speaking our blood is always warm but there are moments when you can feel almost red hot, especially when it comes to the more amorous feelings that occur between two individuals that are genuinely attracted to one another. While one might feel it before the other that mutual attraction is hard to miss when you feel a sudden flush come to your cheeks and your hands actually get sweaty at the thought of the other person. This song, released in 1978, brings into focus the kind of feelings that people have been experiencing towards each other for a very long time when love, or lust, is in the air.
It’s hard not to get hot-blooded when you see someone that drives you absolutely up the wall.
5. Lip Sync Battle
Lip Sync Battle is one of the few shows that really has fun with something that used to be a big no-no. Instead of calling it out as has been done before this show celebrates the art of lip syncing. Really the show is just a big spoof meant to have fun and showcase who has the better act onstage while mouthing the words to someone else’s song, and it’s usually very funny.
4. Family Guy
Family Guy usually works these kind of things into their shows in various clips that pop up when one of the characters says something that forces the show to pull away to another clip. You know, like a librarian that looks kind of frumpy and then undoes a couple of buttons and look completely sexy, that kind of thing. It’s worked for this long at least.
3. Vision Quest
I looked and looked for the cafeteria scene that was supposedly where this song showed up in Vision Quest but couldn’t find so I settled on just showing that the song is actually in the movie. The film is a classic since it shows a couple of great stars when they were just starting out and it shows the determination that’s needed to find one’s path and stick to it.
2. King of Queens
It might be fair to say that Doug has a rather high estimation of himself, or you could just say that he has a lot of self esteem. Either way Carrie is there to bring him down to earth most times since he’s not a bad guy but he kind of needs to be reminded that he’s not Don Juan every now and again. It’s healthy to have a decent level of self esteem though.
1. Osmosis Jones
This is where we get to take the term ‘hot-blooded’ kind of literally since Osmosis Jones is a white blood cell whose job it is to track down a deadly virus and destroy it before it can kill the human he’s a part of. The movie didn’t get a lot of good reviews but it’s kind of an interesting idea.
We’ve all felt hot-blooded a few times in our lives.
