The Top Five Movies That were Shot in Colorado

Colorado is a beautiful place, especially when it comes to filming movies. There are more than enough areas that offer a picturesque view of the landscape that can be used in many different ways. The mountains however are one feature of this state that tend to be used most often since they’re one of the most renowned landmarks throughout all of Colorado, and Denver is definitely another very well-used location since it tends to lend itself well to film. Out of the many states that are used to film in Colorado offers a very tempting tableau of humanity and the wilds that is hard to resist.

So let’s see what we’ve got.

5. Every Which Way But Loose

Philo Beddoe is a simple enough guy unless you make him mad, then he might be your worst nightmare. He’s the type of trucker that fights for money and takes on bikers without a thought to his own safety Eventually he goes chasing after a girl only to realize that she’s not worth the time, whereupon he goes back to his life as usual without much difficulty.

4. Furious 7

Pikes Peak Highway was used to create the intense driving scenes between Dom’s crew and those that were attempting to keep Ramsay in custody. The scene had to do with the team needing Ramsay to find and then use the piece of tech known as the God’s Eye so that they could hold up their end of the deal with Mr. Nobody to find Deckard Shaw.

3. The Hateful Eight

It’s a Quentin Tarantino bloodbath. In truth it sounds like an attempt to spring a prisoner that went awry, and then eventually went completely wrong as everyone got shot and eventually the people that were supposed to be free and in the clear got shot and one of them was hung. I’m not sure where Quentin was going with this one but it definitely has his flair.

2. The Prestige

Colorado Springs was where Angiers went to discover the next trick that would help him to outfox Borden, and he found more than he bargained for. In the world of magic and illusion it’s best to know what’s real and what’s hiding under the curtain. Angiers was a man that couldn’t accept what he was seeing and thus went looking for answers beyond the turn, which isn’t the wisest move.

1. Dumb and Dumber

This had to be one of the funniest movies ever made and also one of the few that really made people slap their hands to their heads in utter disbelief. Obviously in real life no one would buy the fact that two of the biggest morons ever walking the face of the earth would just show up with a briefcase full of cash. It worked for the film though since the entire way through the silliness of it made it almost like a live action cartoon.

Colorado is a beautiful state and definitely takes well to filming. Of course it helps that a lot of it is still very open.
