“The Curse of Oak Island” Airing Serious Accident on Next Episode

If you’ve been following “The Curse of Oak Island,” then you’re aware of the dangers that treasure hunters face in their quests. The next episode to air will drive this reality home for anyone who thinks that this show is just a dramatization that has been carefully staged. Here is what you can expect to see on the very next installment.

The most frightening episode of the fifth season

Is there really a curse on Oak Island, or was this just an accident that happened by chance and the right conditions coming together? You’ll have to be the judge of that. During filming of the episode that will air on Tuesday, November, 28, 2017, a serious accident took place. It happened while the drilling crew was at work. A high pressure hose blasted a member of the team, knocking him to the ground. The hose was out of the control of the team and could have affected anyone standing nearby.

What the sneak peek shows

The footage shows a crew member’s safety helmet flying in the air as his image is obscured by a large dust cloud. Next, we see him lying on the ground as Rick and other team members run to offer assistance. Although, it’s a relief to see the injured man moving around and groaning, no news about his condition is yet known. An ambulance arrives to take him to the hospital for an assessment of the injuries. Hopefully, this episode will include more information about his well-being.

Dangers of treasure hunting in this location

Oak Island is known for obeing a dangerous place to prospect. The earth beneath is littered with large voids and the workers have no way of knowing where they’re at. The team talks about the void that in part, just prior to the accident and they estimated that it is a minimum of thirty feet in height. It is as they are discussing the situation that the hose explodes with the drama unfolding in the next few moments.

Are the Laginas getting any closer to the treasure?

The team is hoping that this void could lead them to an underground tunnel that was found by previous treasure hunters on the island. It’s important for viewers to know that Robert and Bobby Restall were a father and son treasure hunting team who discovered a spiral tunnel in the 1960s as they were searching for the same treasure. Both of them were killed in an accident while trying to find the treasure in 1965. Could this accident be more than just a coincidence? Does it mean that the team is getting close to the treasure?

Special appearance on next week’s episode

Viewers can get more information about the Restall Tragedy that happened in August of 1965 in this episode. Two members of the Restall family make an appearance to revisit the island. Lee Lamb and Rick Restall will be there and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. You can catch “The Curse of Oak Island on the History Channel Tuesdays at 8/9c.
