Ben Barnes is an English actor who was born in London on August 20, 1981. He has worked in the entertainment industry since 2006 and his jobs have included stage productions, television appearances, and roles in films. He is probably best-known for playing Caspian X in ‘Prince Caspian’ and ‘The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’. These films are both part of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia. He is also known for playing the title character in the 2009 film ‘Dorian Gray’. Most recently, he has played Billy Russo in the television series ‘The Punisher’. 1. His Classmates at High School Were Tom Basden and Khalid Abdella
Barnes attended King’s College School in Wimbledon. While he was there, his classmates included Tom Basden and Khalid Abdella. Tom Basden is a comedian who is a member of the sketch group ‘Cowards’ and often appears on the panel of comedy shows on Channel 4 and BBC in the UK. Khalid Abdella is a British Egyptian actor who is best-known for his roles in ‘United 93′, ‘The Kite Runner’, ‘Green Zone’, and ‘The Square’.
2. He Was in the National Youth Music Theater
Ben Barnes enjoyed performing from a young age and many of his earlier performances were with the National Youth Music Theater. Between 1997 and 2003, he took part in six performances with this group. Some of the productions included ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘The Ragged Child’, and ‘Exposure’.
3. His Parents Encouraged Him to Go to University
Although his parents have always supported his decision to have a career in the entertainment industry, they encouraged him to attend university so he would have something to fall back on as acting is a potentially unreliable career. His parents come from an academic background as his mother is a relationship therapist and his father is a professor of psychiatry. Ben Barnes graduated with a BA Honors in drama and English literature from Kingston University in Kingston-Upon-Thames in 2004.
4. He Has Worked on Off-Screen Projects
Ben Barnes is best-known for his appearances in television and film. However, he has also been involved in many other projects. He provided the voice for Casper X in the 2008 video game ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian’. He was also in music videos for The Black Eyed Peas 2016 single ‘Where is the Love?’ and the 2017 single by Mt. Wolf ‘Soteria’. In 2017, he appeared on a podcast called ‘My Dad Wrote a Porno’ in the episode ‘Footnotes: Ben Barnes’.
5. He Has Been Nominated for Awards
In recognition of his talents as an actor, Ben Barnes has been nominated for many awards. For his performance in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian’, he was nominated for a National Movie Award, a Teen Choice Award, and an MTV Movie Award. He was then nominated for a National Movie Award in 2011 for his role in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’. Finally, he was nominated in 2017 for a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role in ‘Westworld’. Unfortunately, Ben Barnes has not yet won an award for his work.
