Thor is a bit of a mystery when it comes to comic book characters. When he is good, he is known to be cocky, brash, loud, violent and reckless. When he goes bad, he’s even worse. It’s on record that Thor has a fair amount of blood on his hands, but this does not necessarily mean that killing is what makes Thor a bad dude. He is naturally a spoiled brat. It’s also on record that Thor was actually banished more than once by Odin from his home world so that he could teach him some manners. From his unbecoming behavior and as a warrior, Thor is known to have done a number of other bad things in his superhero career. On that note, Let’s look at the five worst things Thor has ever done.
1. He encouraged his followers to commit murder.
Since nobody used to worship the Norse gods for a pretty long time, Thor and his pals used to have thousands and thousands of real-life worshippers. At the ancient times of the age of Viking, hordes savage roamed on the entire kingdom killing people in the name of Thor. It was later realized that Thor actually encouraged the entire slaughtering until he was compelled to face the dire consequences of his actions in the flesh. Additionally, another incident is when Thor decided to surprise his followers one evening during an in-person visit. On this fateful day, the warriors of Viking capped off a very successful raid killing a local villager. They dedicated the murder to Thor and the Asgardian rewarded their faith by showing up at their camp late at night.
2. He teamed up with Adolf Hitler
It’s no surprise that the team up of Thor and Hitler would have resulted in a blue-eyed, blond-haired Germanic beefcake group. Moreover, it’s also surprising that the renowned Asgardian god of thunder-Thor would be willing to assist such a genocidal dictator by name Adolf Hitler. In The Invaders #33 when Thor is told that Hitler is a mass-murderer, he shrugs off and continues to protect the descendants of All-Father’s worshippers. Thor doesn’t actually realize it until Hitler turns against him. He is to summon the army of trolls who are the greatest enemies of Thor.
3. He violated an ancient treaty and nearly started a war.
In The Mighty Thor #159, It’s crystal-clear that Thor signed a treaty with the land of storm giants Niffleheim to bring peace to both worlds. Within the treaty, the two agreed that no Asgardian was permitted inside Niffleheim. However, the well-known Thor with a doesn’t care attitude didn’t respect the agreement and goes right into Niffleheim and starts attacking them with his Mjolnir hammer. Although Buddy Balder came in between the attack to bail out of the god of thunder, this does not save him from the wrath of Odin.
4. He killed his brother Loki.
Thor and Loki were two compassionate brothers that nobody would think that their brotherly feud would amount to anything too severe. But surprisingly, one time Thor straight murdered his brother Loki. It all started when Loki Kidnapped Eric Masterson’s son and threatens to kill him unless his brother abandons his Mjolnir hammer. However, Thor opts for option three and beats his brother. In the process of their disagreement and fights, it said that Thor ripped the life-force from Loki’s body vaporizing him dead on the spot.
5. When he went insane, tried to destroy the universe, slept with himself and beat his girlfriend.
After succumbing to madness and being stripped off all his powers by his dad Odin, Thor goes into a rampage beating his fiancée Lady Sif, fist Drax the Destroyer, Beta Ray Bill alongside other cosmic heroes. Thor then steals Mind Gem and tries to destroy the entire Asgard. A combination of Thanos, Silver Surfer- the infinity and Doctor Strange is what stopped him from doing this. Odin Comes in and restores his sanity. Worst of all, Thor dumps his wife and creates a steamy alter ego by name Dark Valkyrie. He began sleeping with Valkyrie (himself ) which is actually a mystery is better left unsolved.
