The Top Five Uses of NAS Songs in Movies or TV

Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones, or Nas, has been one of the most popular recording artists seen in the past two decades and more and has been awarded many times over for his contributions to the world and genre of hip hop. While just as mainstream as anyone his name often doesn’t get as much credit as others despite the fact that his music has gained a very large following. He’s actually been named as one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time as well, and has been a very charitable individual throughout his life. Nas came from a home where his African roots were very much recognized and celebrated by his family, giving him a deep sense of culture and a better insight as to who he was and who he aspired to be.

That could be why he’s been such a popular name for so long, he doesn’t hide who he is behind who society wants him to be.

5. Birth of a Nation-War

The USA wasn’t born under a banner of peace throughout its lifetime. It was a hard, difficult struggle that saw many people, African-Americans more than anyone, chafe under the rule of the unjust. You can say that there are two sides to every story and that there are heroes on each side, but the subjugation of any group by another is something that cannot be tolerated.

4. Creed-Bridging the Gap

It’s a rebirth in some way to be able to pass on knowledge to the next generation. When Apollo Creed’s illegitimate son begins expressing a desire to follow in his father’s footsteps he seeks out the only man that knew Apollo in the same manner as those closest to him, the one man that finally beat the champ. For Rocky, it’s a chance to get back to doing what he loves to do.

3. Project X-Nas

Being young and crazy is a symptom as well as a disease at times it would seem. Don’t get me wrong, we were all young and somewhat crazy at one time or another, but thankfully a lot of us grow up and move past this stage. Those that don’t, well, there’s always time to change. This movie was just off the wall nuts in a way that was kind of good but a lot of bad in a very fun way.

2. Blood Diamond-Shine On ‘Em

So much fuss for something that cannot be eaten, grown, or even reproduced by the hands of mankind. Blood diamonds are to many people something of a poisonous nature, unique in their beauty but deadly in effect. They are said to fund atrocities that cannot be adequately described and divide families with no more regard for the sake of humanity than one would give to an insect.

1. Nas-Nas Is Like

Nas is definitely a unique individual and a very intelligent rapper. Despite dropping out of school in the eighth grade he’s managed to learn a great deal about life and how it works. He’s also managed to apply that knowledge and make it work for him since he happens to be one of the most successful artists in the industry.

He knows how to get it done.
