Torrey DeVitto is an actress, musician, and former model, She was born in New York on June 8, 1984. She began her career as an actress in 2003 when she landed small roles in ‘Scrubs’ and ‘Dawson’s Creek’. Her first appearance in a movie was in 2005 when she played Maura in ‘Starcrossed’. Her big break came when she played the lead role of Zoe Warner in ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’. She has since established a successful acting career and she is now best-known for playing Maggie Hall in ‘Army Wives’ and Dr. Natalie Manning in ‘Chicago Med’, ‘Chicago P.D.’, and ‘Chicago Fire’. 1. She Was Married to Paul Wesley
In 2007, DeVitto began dating Paul Wesley. He was her co-star in the ‘Killer Movie’. After dating for four years, the couple finally married on April 12, 2011, in a private ceremony in New York City. Between 2012 the coupe even worked together once again as DeVitto had a role in ‘The Vampire Diaries’. Her husband also had a role on this CW fantasy drama series. Unfortunately, the couple decided to go their separate ways in July 2013 when they had been married for just two years. Their split was amicable and they remain good friends.
2. She Was in ‘Drake & Josh’
Between 2004 and 2005, DeVitto appeared in three episodes of the television series ‘Drake & Josh’. She played the role of Denise Woods in the episodes titled ‘First Crush’ and ‘Driver’s License’ and then the role of Tori in an episode called ‘Playing the Field’.
3. She is Passionate About Animal Welfare
In her spare time, Torrey DeVitto considers herself to be a philanthropist who supports as many good causes as possible. One particular area she is passionate about is animal welfare and she supports charities related to this issue. She even adopted two dogs herself from a pet adoption agency in Los Angeles called ‘Much Love’. Her dogs are called Homie and Beau.
4. Her Father is Liberty DeVitto
Torrey DeVitto is not the only talented person in her family as her father is Liberty DeVitto. He was the long-term drummer for Billy Joel. He met Torrey’s mother while he was on the ‘Wild Heart Tour’. On the day that Torrey was born, Billy Joel made a special mention of DeVitto’s wife having a baby and the crowd gave a standing ovation. Therefore, Torrey DeVitto managed to achieve a standing ovation before she was even born.
5. She Can Play the Violin
Torrey DeVitto began learning to play the violin at the age of six. She was a talented musician and even played a solo piece at the wedding of Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook. Although she chose to work as a model signed to Avenue One and Ford modeling agencies, she continued to use her musical talents. She joined the Tommy Davidson Band at the Sunset Room in Hollywood and played the violin with the group. However, she decided that neither music or modeling were the careers for her and opted to pursue a career in acting instead.
