Alex Wer is a genius when it comes to carving pumpkins, and there’s honestly no other way to say it. Hailing from California this gourd-loving artist actually carves pumpkins for people that want to enjoy his work and put it on display in or outside their homes. It’s not a bad idea but it’s definitely a seasonal gig. What I would like to know though, and couldn’t find on his Facebook page, is how he gets all that detail and what he does to make the light shine through the carvings in such an awesome manner.
Here’s a bunch of them just for you to look at. This guy is just awesome.
Minnie Mouse
The shadowing and the detail are amazing, you’d almost expect Minnie to start talking as though the pumpkin is a new type of TV screen.
Pennywise
Just when you think this clown couldn’t get any creepier someone goes and does something like this. The effect is great.
Mike and Sully
I kind of wonder what this would look like if he added color in, or if it would ruin the effect.
Prince
How long must this have taken? Every little detail is just perfect.
Groot
You know for only having one line in the movies thus far Groot sure became insanely popular.
Smaug
It actually took me a second to figure this one out but once I saw the mouth and the eyes I was just like ‘wow’.
Boba Fett
Okay, I seriously just fell in love with this guy. So many representations of Boba Fett are good but not great, but this one just made me tear up a little. The guy is an artist.
Frodo and Gollum
He really went all out for this one, he went almost top to bottom to get them both in. That’s cool.
Sirius Black
My goodness. This guy’s talent is just off the chart. It looks like it should be moving like the paper in the movie.
Regina
If you don’t watch Once Upon A Time you might not get this one, but it’s beautifully done and captures the evil queen’s cruel look perfectly.
Mario
Lets-a go! I would really love to know how this guy does all this with such perfection. What tools does he use?
U2
I would have listed Bono and his band member but not being a U2 fan I didn’t want to say the wrong name.
Spider-man
This guy must sit there and just peel away one thin layer after another to get the right shading. Man that must take some time.
Dr. Who
There’s got to be a legion of fans out there that would pay a good price for these pumpkins.
Wonder Woman
It kind of looks like her arm guards are about to light it up like in the movie. That’s too cool.
Yoda
Strong with the Force this guy must be to carve so masterfully.
Han Solo
Yes, Han DID shoot first. Did you want to see it again?
Deadpool
That’s right, thumbs up for maximum effort.
Visit this guy’s Facebook page, it’s just awesome what he can do.
