This world has definite expiration date on it and while we’re half a decade from when the world was supposed to end the doom and gloom hasn’t stopped since. Many feel that we’re overdue for the type of natural disaster that could shake the very ground out from under us and cause a global calamity that would wipe out millions upon millions of people in a very short time. The movies have been predicting this for a long time now and it might be feasible to believe that one of them finally got it right, but we just don’t know it yet.
Here’s a few movies that might pique your interest.
Superman IV
So the idea of no more nuclear war is great, really, but not entirely feasible. So long as there are tyrants they’ll want bigger and badder weapons. The real issue with this is the fact that Superman decides to throw the entire arsenal into the sun. Yeah, no problem, take the earth’s arsenal and toss it into the one thing that helps to sustain life on our planet. I thought he was supposed to be a genius of some sort.
Outbreak
If the world doesn’t die in a fiery explosion or a nuclear winter it might still perish thanks to the hands of mankind and the freakish outbreak of a new and insanely powerful disease that has no known cure. Leave it to human beings to either discover or create something that can kill without thought and won’t discriminate between victims.
The Day After Tomorrow
So what happens when Mother Nature gets good and ticked off? Oh nothing really, except a massive TIDAL WAVE that could threaten to wipe the entire eastern seaboard off the map. And let’s not forget the plummeting temperatures, the massive storm systems, and the always pleasant side effect the entire northern hemisphere freezing to death thanks to a severe climate shift.
San Andreas
Interesting how a crack in the earth could cause so much damage, isn’t it? People seem to forget the world around them is shifting all the time and isn’t nearly as stable as they like to think it is. If the San Andreas fault were to slip too far there’s not a lot that many of us would be able to do, if there’s anything at all. Here’s one thought though, pray that you can outrun a 9.6 earthquake.
Twister
This might hit a little too close to home for some people right now mostly because of the persistent storm systems that have been coming in on a regular basis. But the very real danger that such storms pose has been shown so often in the past few years that people need to start taking the reality of a climate shift very seriously.
Armageddon
Just think about much detritus is out in that big open space beyond our world. Now think about what something the size of a suitcase could do if it had enough momentum and velocity upon entering our atmosphere. How about something the size of a car, or a bus? Now think about something the size of TEXAS. Night night, lights out for the world.
Waterworld
This the endgame. The polar ice caps melt, the overabundance of water comes racing down through the Pacific, the Atlantic, and continues to rise until even the tallest buildings are nearly a mile under water. Only the tallest structures, nothing made by man obviously, would survive the flood. Who would’ve ever thought that Mt. Everest would be beach front property?
The world isn’t bound to end this second, but one day, in some generation, it would pay to keep an eye out.
