Amy Poehler Returns to Our Screens
It’s been over two years since we last saw the brilliant Amy Poehler grace our television screens as the lovable Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation. Thankfully, Netflix has come to our rescue, as Poehler recently appeared in Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later on the streaming platform.
Now, Poehler is stepping behind the camera to work on a new series with Netflix. And who has she chosen to star in her project? None other than Netflix favorite Natasha Lyonne, who has been captivating audiences as Nicky on the popular series Orange is the New Black since its premiere in 2013.
Introducing Nadia: The Guest of Honor
The upcoming series will follow the character Nadia (played by Lyonne) during a party where she has been named the guest of honor. Netflix has ordered eight episodes of the series, which will air in over 190 countries. Lyonne and Poehler co-created the series with Leslye Headland, who will pen the first episode. Lyonne is also set to write several episodes of the series.
A History of Collaboration
This isn’t the first time Lyonne and Poehler have joined forces. In 2014, the duo pitched a series to NBC called Old Soul. The series was ordered to pilot, but unfortunately, it was not picked up by any network. Additionally, both women are producers on the comedic drama Zero Motivation. This project was recently put into development by BBC America.
Anticipation Builds for the New Project
With the combined talents of Amy Poehler and Natasha Lyonne, there’s no doubt that this new project will be a hit. Are you excited to see these two powerhouses team up for this Netflix original series?
