“Our finished gaming room wall! The concept: The wall of a wizard’s study torn from its dimension and splatted into ours. The stuff on the shelves is a separate, never-ending quest to find cool stuff that’s authentic and tactile – I want guests to feel free to pick up and mess with things, and I’ll be using props for dungeons and dragons games that I host.”
These are folks that take their gaming to the next level and are obviously not content with mere imaginings of a wizards study. This awesome display is the type of fantasy room that most gamers would only dream about, but through the sheer ingenuity and imaginative creation of a pocket dimension within this one room these gamers can now feel completely immersed in the experience as they engage in their favorite role-playing games.
The bookshelf is very impressive and can easily hold numerous books and other visual aids that are necessary for the gaming experience. No more boxes filled with various bits of the game or duffel bags filled to bursting with books and other items that are necessary for the experience. This is the real deal and it is as professional-looking as it gets.
The brick walls are simply awesome and the backlit areas offer the illusion that the entire wall decor is an extra-dimensional space that has been conjured from thin air. It also features shelves upon shelves that are capable holding even more items and lending a very authentic look to the wall.
It would be interesting to watch this being built piece by piece so as to get a better idea of what went into it. I’m sure that many gamers would want to create their own similar space in their room if given the chance. This adds an interesting aesthetic to any gaming room and can be used to impress fellow gamers.
That purple glow is interesting but I have to wonder if by using a different bulb, or whatever light source is used, how it would affect the piece overall. Likely as not it would simply change the color but not the overall appearance. But it’s still worth wondering since the type of light that is used can go a long way towards changing the feel of anything.
The mural is cool, but the overall look could be changed according to the desire of the gamer no doubt, as much of this seems like it could be somehow customized to fit the needs of each individual. The effect of this though is very impressive and it begs the question of how long it takes to make and if it must be professionally done or if there is a way to make this a DIY project. No matter how it was done it’s bound to take a few bucks and a lot of time to accomplish.
It’d be worth it though.
