With a name like Bob Lee Swagger, the lead character in Shooter has simply got to be one of the best heroes ever, right? He was one for sure in the major motion picture of the same name where he was played by Mark Wahlberg and he truly is now as played by Ryan Philippe. The story revolves around a Marine sniper who retires only to end up having to return to the line of fire in order to help with the disruption of an assassination plot. However, he soon finds himself being framed for that assassination attempt when he’s double-crossed by a close associate. Because of this, he has to go on the on the run, hoping that he can expose the real traitors who are behind the whole operation.
Season 2 will go the way of Season 1 by following in its footsteps and including a number of celeb guest stars like Beverly D’Angelo, Jerry Ferrara, Jason Gedrick, Harry Hamlin, and Tom Sizemore. And, just as in Season 1, the star of the Shooter motion picture, Mark Wahlberg, will be producing. So, of course, Shooters Season 2 promises to be just as exciting, (or perhaps even more so), than Season 1 was. So, that being said, here are my five predictions for some of that excitement coming up on Shooter Season 2, which can be seen on the USA Network:
1. Solotov’s Return
Season 2 puts a face to the infamous Chechen sniper named Solotov, who killed Bob Lee’s best friend, Donny Fenn, many years before in Afghanistan. Now, he’ll be after the rest of Swagger’s unit. Based on the books by Stephen Hunter, the producers and writers decided to simply skip the second book, “Black Light”, and jump right to the third, which involves Solotov’s return.
2. Solotov Has the Upper Hand
Bob Lee will be making an attempt at drawing Solotov out into the open. Through a series of flashbacks to their Afghanistan mission, it will become quite obvious just how and why the vicious Chechen is still holding the upper hand. Solotov will prove to be a truly worthy adversary to Bob Lee and the remaining members of his unit.
3. Hey, is this Shooter or Prison Break?
There will be an episode where Isaac and Bob Lee are seen teaming up for a daring escape from a Mexican prison. They’ll have to escape to avoid having Solotov find them. While Julie is suffering through some serious legal issues, Nadine will be seen digging much deeper into Atlas. She’ll also find out that a cover-up is definitely incriminating Bob Lee’s unit.
4. Cartel Money
After tracking Solotov’s money, Bob Lee will end up being pitted against a Mexican cartel. After becoming seriously frustrated, Julie will have to makeher point by using a gun. At the same time, Nadine will continue assisting in the investigation of Bob Lee’s unit.
5. Everything’s Bigger in Texas
Bob Lee will head to Texas to look for Isaac who will almost be killed. Patricia Gregson will be seen demonstrating to Nadine the extent of her influence. Julie will be seriously traumatized and will find herself fighting to remain strong for the family.
