If you’re a part of the younger generation, you may have heard her name, but probably are not familiar with just how important she was to the women in the entertainment industry. The project has been on the back burner for a few years, and the pace for making it a reality has just been thrust into high gear.
Cast
The project is being produced by Steve Tisch, Jason Blumenthal and Todd Black, all Escape Artists. Cate Blanchett will star in the lead role as Lucy. The creation is still in its infancy and the search is ongoing for the part of Desi Arnaz. There have been a few rumors that possibly Javier Bardem is being considered for the role. In the meantime, they will also be looking for actors to play the important parts of the couples’ best friends Fred and Ethel Mertz, formerly played by William Frawley and Vivian Vance.

We learned that the producers are getting some very important technical advice from Lucie Luckinbill and Desi Arnaz Jr. They are the children of the couple and they are taking an active role by authorizing the re-telling of the complicated relationship that their parents had in real life.
