The reality cooking show “[easyazon_link identifier=”B00Y6FGGO4″ locale=”US” tag=”tvovermind00a-20″]Food Network Star[/easyazon_link]” has been the subject of a controversy for some time. While it is enjoyable to watch, there are viewers who are not convinced that it is in fact all that real. The big question for some being is the show a fake that is staged? We’ve found evidence that suggests that it is. Here is what we’ve discovered that lead us to believe this.
2016 allegations of rigging
In July of 2016, fans accused judges of rigging the show to unfairly award the first place in the competition to Tragaye Fraser. It was obvious to viewers that Damiano Carrara was surging ahead, but Carrara was sent home during the finale. There was quite a stir over the event because it was difficult to understand how Tragaye could have scored high enough to emerge at the top of the list. The fans were not happy with the choices that the judges made. There is a pattern of contestants of Italian heritage being eliminated in the final round. Is this a coincidence or is there some bias involved in the final decisions being made?
Fans boycott the show
You need only to check the discussion boards about the show to learn how fans feel about the end of the 2016 season. Many of them are convinced that the “fleek” woman was predestined to win the contest. There was little evidence to support her as being to best cook and there were others who rose above her on multiple occasions so this ticked some fans off enough to make them stop watching the show altogether.
Season 9: Episode 8
Stacey Kinney had solid ideas and with the help of mentors, it became the stuff that dreams are made of. Her pitch was also great and it fell neatly into line with what Susie and Bob claimed they were looking for. So how can they explain why this time, they were not impressed with it? This episode gave viewers another reason to suspect that the show is fake.
Doing the math
There are enough reasons to suspect that the show is rigged to support a vote in that direction. Once faithful viewers were so disappointed with the results that they took to social media and forums to voice their displeasure. There is a believable theory in circulation, that the judges are biased and if they don’t particularly like a certain contestant, there is no way that the individual will be able to win first place.
Is the show worth watching?
There is no doubt that there is a lot be be learned from tuning in. Some amazing dishes are created and viewers get to see how it is done, at least in part. If you’re looking for new ideas or new cooking methods, then this is definitely a good show to watch. It is entertaining, but if you’re looking for an unbiased judging of the cooks competing for the number one position, according to the popular beliefs in viewer land, you won’t find it on this show.
