Summer Phoenix is an American actress that is just one of the many Phoenix children, all of who have been or are still involved in acting to this day. She is the sister of the ill-fated River Phoenix and the current star Joaquin Phoenix. Her film credits are fairly extensive and start back as far as 1984 when she was featured in the film Airwolf. Since then she’s done a fair amount of movies and even become musically inclined over the years. She’s been seen as a talented and promising actress but has mostly stuck to roles that are minor or not as high-profile as her siblings.

5. She just filed for divorce from husband Casey Affleck.
Summer has cited that the reason for their divorce is due to “irreconcilable differences”. When this is brought up it tends to mean that there are issues that a couple would rather not speak aloud to the waiting press. She will also be seeking joint custody of their children. The couple actually split back in the latter part of 2015 and made it public in 2016. Why anyone waits that long is a mystery, but then this is Hollywood.
4. She’s the youngest sibling of Joaquin Phoenix.
Being the youngest of five in a family where all her siblings were actors couldn’t have been easy growing up, but she made do. She’s actually starred in a movie with her older brother Joaquin as his little sister on screen as well. She’s made it a habit however in her older years to break away from her family when it comes to starring roles in movies.
3. She was a child actor.
Like a lot of actors she got her start early and kept working. She’s one of the fortunate few that did not get ruined on her way up, but a good part of this seems to possibly be that she did not become an overnight sensation. Far too often when kids are made into stars they had made to feel the pressure of the position in great detail. This did not happen to Summer thankfully.

Summer is also musically inclined and was in a band with her sister Rain for a time. She continued to focus on her acting and did not continue the experience however. One has to wonder if she was simply too committed to her acting or there was another reason she gave it up.

A lot of movie stars are going vegan nowadays it seems like. There’s nothing wrong with it as many have made it a healthy change to their lifestyle that they claim is perfectly okay and makes them a little happier as well as healthier. If it works for them then more power to them, it seems to be helping a lot of people stay healthy in many ways.
Summer Phoenix isn’t what you would call a mega-superstar when it comes to fame, but she is well known all the same.
