The Top Uses of Bad Company Songs in Movies

It seems like England just knows how to churn out rock groups with an awesome sound and a penchant for coming up with some of the greatest songs ever known to mankind. Bad Company came to be in the 1970’s and enjoyed a huge amount of success during their time. They’re still active today but have taken several breaks in their career since their inception. During the 70’s they were one of the absolute biggest rock bands around and could be heard everywhere. Even in the last two decades their songs have been heard in movies, TV, and anywhere that their music can be reasonably used to produce a pleasing effect.

Here are just a few movies in which their songs have been featured.

5. Bleed for This – Rock Steady

You would think finding clips on the internet would be simpler, but while Bad Company does show up in this movie as part of the soundtrack those clips don’t seem to exist or are extremely hard to find. Regardless, the story of Vinny Pazienza is one that is both inspirational and heart-rending considering all he had to go through just to get back to where he wanted to be. Some people tend to give up when a doctor tells them that they’ll never walk again. Others simply don’t listen and start running.

4. Grown Ups – Ready for Love

Oh this poor guy. It’s one thing to be a huge beefcake and be able to attract the ladies with nothing more than a look, but when you sound like Flipper upon opening your mouth then it’s kind of expected for people to just bust up laughing. The ladies had it right, everything about this guy was on the juice except his voice. Just how hard was he hitting the juice anyway?

3. Friday Night Lights – Seagull

In Texas, football is a way of life. You don’t question it and you don’t let down for even a single minute because there are always young men just itching to get into your spot and prove what they can do. The coaches are always on the hot seat and the wins need to keep stacking up if they want to keep their jobs. This is football life, and it’s never easy or slow-paced.

2. Lord of Dogtown – I Just Wanna Make Love to You

This is what happens when guys who do things for the sheer love of it get tempted with money, fame, and the kind of notoriety that goes with being a rock star. They forget the ties that bind them, forget fellowship and brotherhood, and it becomes a game of every man for himself. It’s called progress and change, but it’s also a means to tear down anything that might actually be real.

1. Jerry Maguire – Burnin’ Sky

Yes men are very different when they’re clinging to the bottom rung. They become desperate, grasping, and in some cases, they become better human beings. Being that so close to the bottom reminds you of everything you had to do to get to the top, and it makes you look at what’s really important in life before you start stepping on people again.

Bad Company’s music has been in some truly great movies, and hopefully we’ll continue to hear them in future soundtracks.
