I stumbled across a Reddit post today that’s getting a decent amount of attention and I wanted to share it with all of you. As all of us know, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is immensely popular as evidenced by his movies grossing billions of dollars and he being the higher paid actor in Hollywood right now. But what exactly has he done in his films to draw these kinds of ticket sales? Is it anything? I mean he’s really the second coming of Schwarzenegger but do his movies even compare to Arnold movies? Here’s the query posted by the redditor in question:
So before I write this post I just wanna say I’m a huge fan of his work ethic and his attitude he brings into film sets, but I can’t think of a single memorable movie he has done where I thought “that guy is amazing” or at least stood out. I thought he was brilliant as a Voice Actor/Singer in Moana, but his Action movies are dull and uninspired (Faster,San Andreas,Empire State,Snitch) and his Comedy’s like Bay Watch and Central Intelligence weren’t well received by anyone.
So what exactly gave him the opportunity to have 14 films lined up?
It’s as good a question as any not to mention Johnson could very well wind up being our next President. Any answers folks?
