Iconic movie The Fifth Element may be 20-years-old but to this day it’s still considered one of the better sci-fi masterpieces of all-time. The movie was certainly ahead of its time with regard to not only technology but the portrayal of the future. Director Luc Besson brilliantly weaved audiences in and out of location to location and conversation to conversation in an action packed series of adventures that never kept us on anything but our toes.
And now, 20 years after The Fifth Element, Besson is back with another sci-fi epic that promises to live up to everything that The Fifth Element is. At least that’s what Besson is betting on. The movie Valerian and the City of 1000 Planets has the highest budget of any French movie ever and when you see the latest and final trailer you’ll be able to understand why. According to Joblo
This movie will be a big gamble for Europa and STX Entertainment, who have sunk a ton of money into what appears to be an attempt at a sort of Avatar/Guardians of the Galaxy hybrid. It sure does look spectacular in a visual sense, but the characters of Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) and their story will be the determining factor when it comes to the movie’s quality, and therefore lifespan
I completely agree with this. Check out the trailer below:
