At this point in Tom Brady’s career he’s clearly playing with house money. I applaud and am amazed at Brady’s work ethic and desire to continue to be the best in football at such a ripe old age. If he retired right after the Patriots most recent Superbowl win I think all fans wouldn’t have been surprised and in fact would have been quite happy for the guy. However, given he’s said he wants to play “well” into his 40s the most recent news out of Brady camp has to come as a shock and worry for Patriots fans.
In the 18 years that EA Sports legendary football game Madden has been around, the players who have graced the cover have had horrific track records the season after they are on the cover. This is documented proof and now Brady is completely playing with fire since he’s the latest cover boy. Brady himself said of the honor:
“The Madden NFL 18 cover is a great honor for me,” said Tom Brady. “Especially since I have been playing the game since growing up next to EA headquarters in the Bay Area. I’m not one to believe in curses, so I’m ready to take the challenge head on like always! It doesn’t stand a chance!!!”
You got guts Brady. I’ll tell you that much. But seriously dude, you’re playing with fire.
