You may not have known his name if you aren’t a big trance music fan but nearly everyone, including yourself knew the song “Children” which Robert Miles created. Miles was a huge name in the dance music industry and sadly he’s died at the young age of 47. According to The Wrap
The news was confirmed early Wednesday by fellow producer Joe T. Vannelli via Facebook. The cause of death has not been disclosed. “The tragic news of the death of a very talented artist of our time, makes me incredulous and upset,” Vannelli wrote. “I will miss the fights, brawls, criticism, judgements but especially your talent in finding sounds and melodies unparalleled.” Those who knew Miles’ work are already giving tribute on social media.
Miles died in Ibiza, Spain, one of the trance music capitals of the world. Miles became proficient at playing the piano during his youth in Friuli, Italy, in the small town of Fagagna, where his family moved when he was still a young boy, and had been in the music scene since 1984. He worked as a DJ in some Italian clubs and private radio networks and in 1990, he used his savings to establish his own recording studio and a pirate radio station. After the 1995 hit “Children” his career took off from there.
He will be missed. Here’s his song, “Children”
