Without warning, context, or any kind of explanation, Josh Gad got the DCEU universe pretty excited when he inexplicably tweeted a photo of a very famous DC comic character: The Penguin. The image combined with the DCEU’s collective fan base also being fans of Gad, lead to rampant speculation that the actor may have taken a role as The Penguin for an upcoming movie. At the current time the idea is nothing more than rumor but that hasn’t stopped people from talking or even conjuring up images of Gad as Oswald Chesterfield Copperpot.
One of the best artists when it comes to imagining celebrities as specific comic book movie characters was back at it when he heard about the Gad tweet. Bosslogic drew a pretty cool rendering of what Josh Gad could potentially look like as The Penguin. Again, it’s only speculation but the photo looks pretty awesome doesn’t it?
DC and Warner Bros. have a full slate ahead, Wonder Woman on June 2, 2017, followed by Justice League on November 17, 2017. The Batman is expected sometime in 2018, with The Flash debuting on March 23, 2018. Aquaman is set for October 5, 2018, and Nightwing’s solo feature is due sometime in 2019.
